The Chicago via Ohio
Clerics are a band that once existed as the now broken
up New Rob Robbies years ago. Now with a new member they
have changed their name to The Clerics, and I like what
I hear. This four song 7" released on a small, but great
Chicago label, roostercow records is what is needed on a
harsh day. With three guitarists all sharing the duties
with melody, rhythm and the low-end as Robbie keeps the
beat tight. In many ways I suppose they compare to other
bands, but this style of laid-down sound, jangly guitars
with vocals that at times resembles a teetering Elvis
Costello on downers with heart seems to have it on their
own. Can't wait to hear more from these guys. (CRIMEWAVE MAGAZINE)
Swoozy, woozy lo-fi gold! (ROOSTER COW)
I am not a religious person, but I believe in The Clerics. They're peachy, not preachy.

It is easy to be a clerics fan . The songs are fresh while staying classic. And it is very doable and cheap to
attend all of their gigs (4 in 5 years). (CHUCK NESBITT)
Dunc would rather strap a rucksack to his back and blow himself up than listen to The Clerics ever again. (DUNC THE PUNK)
